BROWS for Rural Health

Rural Health is ignored from ages due to several reasons like .. access to critical medicine, Lack of Skilled Health Workers at ground level, Lack of distribution networks, trust of local people.

BROWS believes preventable and curable diseases are not even addressed due to lack of hospitals nearby.

BROWS Team conducted a Free Health camp at Madhavapatnam on 07-Aug-2011, East Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh, India. Dr. Mohammed Zaffruallah, Specialist Cardioligist, treated the rural people and provided advise to the patients.




BROWS for Physically and Mentally Challenged

Brows team camped at Santivardana school for Phisically and Mentally challenged children at Pulimeru Village, Peddapuram Mandal, EG DT, Andhra Pradesh on the occasion of Day of Deaf (2011). Team interacted with the children and school management.




BROWS for ENVIRONMENT

BROWS Children's day celebrations at Praja Vidyalayam (People's Public School)

BROWS and Ideal Institute of Technology (IITK) organized Plantation Drive at IITK Campus, Kakinada. This drive is to create awareness among the students to save Planet Earth. Around 200 Saplings were planted in the IITK Campus.




BROWS for DEPRIVED CHILDREN

BROWS Children's day celebrations at Praja Vidyalayam (People's Public School)

Praja Vidyalayam was started with an intention to educate children of the weaker & financially backward sections of the society, who are falling yards behind education, even though possess high intelligence and intention to pursue their studies.

BROWS team during their interactions with the school staff, observed these children are from different lifestyles and belong to poorer households. Also it is observed by the BROWS team that girl dropouts are more due to these children need to take care of household duties in the absence of their parents who are daily wage workers.

BROWS team participated in the Children's Day celebrations at this School and provided the deprived children with chocolates, Slates, Slate Pencils, Notebooks, Pens, Pencils, sharpeners and erasers.




BROWS for Street Children

Parivarthana, an NGO working on education for Street Children, Child Labour and orphans and school drop outs, bringing them back to school and facilitating further education.

BROWS Team visited Parivartana on 18-Dec-2011 and interacted with childern and staff. Parivartana Secretary, Vakalanka Ramakrishna detaied about the activities of the organization. BROWS team distributed sweets, books and woolen caps to the children to protect them from cold weather.

BROWS belives children needs special attention as they are more vulnerable to the conditions under which they live and more affected than any other age group in the society. Children are particularly vulnerable to exploitation and abuse.

Street Children are exploited and the problems include Child Labour, Discrimination (Gender), Health and Homelessness apart from poverty.



BROWS for SPORTS

BROWS as a part of its vision for youth, believes youth will get benefited from sports in several ways. These can be Stress Relief, Mastery,Healthy Habits, Attitude Control, Leadership Opportunities, Resilience, Identity and balance, Time Management, Long-Term Thinking, Teamwork, Diversity, Relationship and increased participation in Community towards the social benefits.

BROWS in association with Ideal Group of Colleges conducted BROWS CRICKET CHAMPIONSHIP 2012, in and around Kakinada. 10 Teams participated from different professional colleges participated in this Championship-2012.

Prof. G Tulasi Ram Das, Vice-Chancellor, JNTU, Kakinada inaugurated the 5 Day (20-Jan-2012 to 24-Jan-2012) BROWS CRICKET CHAMPIONSHIP 2012 and in his address as a Chief Guest he stressed the need of Sports for youth.

Dr P Chiranjeevini Kumari, Secretary and Correspondent, Ideal Group of Colleges, Presided the function, DR N S R Sastry, President, Governing Body, Ideal Colleges and other dignitaries.

The 5-Day BROWS Cricket Championship 2012 ended with Valedictory & Prize Distribution Function on 24-Jan-2012 with Dr. DV Rama Murthy,Principal, Ideal Institute of Technology, presiding this function, Smt. SV Ramana, District Sports Development Officer as Chief Guest and Dr. DV Rama Rao, Principal, Ideal College of Arts & Sciences graced as Guest of Honour.

Smt. SV Ramana - in her address Congratulated the Winners and Runners of the BROWS CRICKET Championship -2012 and distributed the prizes, hoped the Mass Participation in sports will help the country in achieving best results in all international sports events.

BROWS team thanked all involved in this success.





BROWS for OLD AGE HOMES

ASHRAM SRAVANA- Association for the care of the Aged,Ramanayyapet, Kakinada, works for the welfare of the aged who are abononed by their near Kith & Kin.

BROWS as a part of their vision of caring the old age homes and believes in Healthy ageing, camped at ASHRAM SRAVANA, to analyse and identify the needs of this old age home. BROWS team served Lunch and distributed fruits to the inmates of this Old Age Home.

The need of old age homes have many reasons and a few of them are: Life expectancy increased from 31 to 60 year post independence in India. Younger generation do not have the time as they migrated from villages to cities for their livelyhood The resources to meet the elderly needs (like medical expenses, special food etc).
